Building envelope specialists: new build to remediation

We design, install and remediate the full building envelope, cladding, render and rainscreen, on new builds and occupied high-rise buildings. On HRBs (higher-risk buildings) we act as Principal Contractor and support you through the Building Safety Act, Gateway submission, approval and final sign-off.

The complete façade service

The MLG façades team delivers façade renewal and new build, glazing, cladding, render and fire remediation on live and occupied buildings. We work across the South West, London and Wales: residential high-rise, student accommodation, offices and commercial buildings. From first survey to final sign-off, one team manages the whole scheme, design, access, installation and the compliance record behind it.

Our Facade Services

New-build façades

Cladding, render and rainscreen systems on new developments. We work from the architect's design, coordinate with frame, windows and interfaces, and hand over a weathertight envelope with every component documented.

Recladding

Full strip and reclad of occupied buildings, in cladding or render, scaffold, weather protection and interim fire measures managed so residents stay safely in their homes throughout. Non-compliant materials come off, tested systems go on, and every detail is recorded.

Glazing & curtain walling

Window, glazing and curtain-wall replacement, usually delivered as part of a remediation scheme, the openings and interfaces handled by the same team as the façade.

Fire remediation

Combustible cladding and insulation removed and replaced with tested, compliant systems, planned around the people still living in the building, with safety maintained every day of the scheme. This is the work that matters most to clients and residents, and we deliver it that way.

Principal Contractor, Building Safety Act

Dutyholder responsibilities on higher-risk buildings: competence to BS 8670-1, the Golden Thread maintained from Gateway 2 to handover, change control through to Gateway 3.

Resident liaison

Dedicated Resident Liaison Officers on every occupied scheme, residents know what's happening, when, and who to speak to.

What our clients say

I’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for the work completed on the station overbridge. The quality has been excellent, and I really appreciate you going beyond the original scope by redecorating the steel columns on the span and the stairs, this has given the structure a much-improved overall finish. Delivering the works within the six-day blockade was a great achievement, and the improvements have made a noticeably long-awaited positive difference to the station. I have received nothing but positive feedback from the Station Team.

Alison Tarrant
Asset Manager (East), Great Western Railway

Just a short email to extend our thanks to your site team for the sterling work undertaken on the Cardiff Central Office Refurbishment scheme. Your staff were a credit to your company… Nothing was too much trouble, they all stringently followed our safety procedures and all had a positive, can-do attitude throughout the works. As you can see from the attached pics, it’s been some transformation!

I’ve engaged MLG for several large-scale roofing projects with varying challenges, and have always found them proactive and responsive. Projects are completed on time and on budget, and they’re always sensitive to the live nature of our buildings. I look forward to using them again.

Mark Essex

Well done to Andrew and the wider MLG team for all their hard work throughout the installation of the Valance. The Valance has changed the landscape of Exchange Square and is being appreciated by all.

Calmour Hill
Sub Agent, Infrastructure u{2013} Rail, Morgan Sindall

MLG are the building contractors responsible for the 10 East flood damage repair works. Both the end client and Clerk of Works were impressed with their efficiency and standard of workmanship, and equally impressed by their level of communication and organisation. As such, we have invited them back to campus to kindly provide a presentation to any interested parties concerned with building projects of varying magnitude.

Oliver Eades
Clerk of Works, University of Bath

From start to finish the team were a pleasure to work with, friendly, professional and clearly very experienced. The liquid-applied system was exactly what we needed and the finish is top-notch. The lads were respectful of the college environment, kept everything tidy and caused minimal disruption to staff and students. A brilliant job, we’d definitely recommend MLG.

Richard Huish College

So I wanted to write to you and personally thank you and your teams for the efforts over the weekend battling the elements with Storm Darragh. Please pass on my thanks to all those involved, I know it was a real team effort, and just shows what can be achieved when working together. Your support as always is really appreciated…

Just wanted to place on record that Jon was extremely helpful in turning these works around at very short notice and played a key role in helping us out of a difficult situation with NWR.

Ian Parrock
Works Delivery Manager, Sisk

Great, I will be on site. Cameron has just finished and has done a great job, as have all your team that were involved.

Oliver Richards

Thank you for the work on the tipping hall lines. In Viridor we have a scheme called Homesafe Innovation, where something is an improvement and other sites should be made aware of good progress.

Dean Hitchens
Operations Manager, Viridor

A façade scheme to deliver?

New build, reclad or remediation, the earlier we're involved, the better the scheme runs. Send us the drawings, or tell us what you know.
