Our registered office is Unit 3 Armstrong Court, Armstrong Way, Yate, Bristol, BS37 5NG. We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website.

The information we collect

We collect personal information in the following ways:

  • Enquiry form. When you use our contact form we collect your name, company, phone number, email address and the details of your enquiry, including the project type, your preferred contact method and urgency.
  • Direct contact. If you email or phone us, we keep a record of the correspondence, including any information you choose to give us.
  • Recruitment. If you contact us about working for MLG, we collect the information you send us, such as your CV, work history and contact details.
  • Website analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website. This collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, and your approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you ask about (legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract).
  • To deliver and administer contracted works, including maintaining records of jobs, correspondence and site attendance (legal basis: performance of a contract).
  • To consider you for employment where you have contacted us about a role (legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in recruiting).
  • To understand how our website is used and improve it (legal basis: your consent, given through the cookie notice).
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including health and safety, tax and accounting requirements (legal basis: legal obligation).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Google Analytics 4

Our website uses Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google. It uses cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. The information generated is transmitted to and stored by Google. We use it only in aggregate, to see how the site is used and to improve it. We have not enabled advertising features or remarketing.

Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Who we share information with

We share personal information only where necessary to run our business:

  • Service providers who support our systems, such as our website hosting provider, email provider, and the job-management systems we use to log and track work.
  • Google, as the provider of Google Analytics 4, as described above.
  • Professional advisers such as accountants, insurers and solicitors, where necessary.
  • Regulators, authorities or others where the law requires it.

Where a provider processes personal information on our behalf, we have contracts in place requiring them to protect it and to use it only on our instructions. Where information is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK’s adequacy regulations or the approved standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep your information

  • Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to two years from our last contact.
  • Client and contract records: for the duration of the engagement and for as long afterwards as we need them to meet legal, warranty, insurance and accounting obligations.
  • Recruitment information: up to six months after the position is filled or the correspondence ends, unless you ask us to keep it on file.
  • Analytics data: retained in Google Analytics for up to 14 months.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate information corrected.
  • Have your information erased in certain circumstances.
  • Restrict or object to our use of your information in certain circumstances.
  • Receive the information you gave us in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis on which we use your information.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would welcome the chance to address any concerns first.

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections to this website, access controls on our systems, and staff responsibilities for handling information appropriately.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and any changes take effect when the updated policy is published on this page.
